Town Hall a Success!

February 26, 2010

We had more than 80 people at the Town Hall Meeting last night! Everyone was interested in finding out about the new schools. BOORA architects shared a Power Point presentation of the latest designs for the new schools (we hope to have some of those images on this site next week). We also discussed current progress on the various projects related to the new schools, most of which we have been discussing in previous blogs and will discuss in future blog entries.

Steve Effros shared some information about our plans to involve the local workforce and local contractors wherever we can. We also shared a Workforce Inventory Data Form so that we can begin to make a list of individuals and local contractors which we will share with contractors when the bidding process begins. I have attached the form here, so you can share it with your employer if you live in Vernonia, but are employed with a company out of town, or to put your name or company on the list. We will have more information about these opportunities at our next Town Hall scheduled for 7 pm March 18th in the Cafeteria.

We have also placed Question Forms throughout town. If you have a question please fill out a form and turn it into the district office or, better yet, you could simply post it here. We will answer the questions in the Q & A New Schools section of this website.
