Natural Resource Center Update

May 17, 2010

What started out as a simple concept to involve university partners in our school is evolving into a living laboratory. Each month representatives from OSU, PCC, the Upper Nehalem Watershed Council, and others are meeting together to discuss ways in which we can work together to make a better educational experience for not only our children but for the region. This concept has captured the imagination of many leaders across the state. One participant at the business fundraising meeting Portland made a visionary comment about how we could create a K-20 learning environment right here in Vernonia that would foster lifelong learning within our community.

The next NRC meeting will be the morning of the Oregon Solutions Meeting that will be from 1-2:30 pm on May 25th at the Scout Cabin in Vernonia. Feel free to contact the district office for more information.
