Logging On the New Site

December 1, 2010

When I took this position as Superintendent of the Vernonia School District, I never dreamt I would have the opportunity to learn so much about so many things. Thankfully, learning to deal with some things is more about who you know rather than what you know. One case in point is when we began dealing with removing the trees from the new site. Most of the trees that needed to be removed were on the property owned by Don and Delores Webb and they had made arrangements with the Weller Brothers for the removal of the marketable timber as soon as it was confirmed that the property would be purchased by the district. Thankfully we, as a District, were able to extend their work to remove the few trees that were on the rest of the District property. Many thanks to the Weller Bothers for taking care of the timber permit and the other issues that went along with this part of the project.
