Greenhouse Foundation Complete

March 21, 2013

With the help of local contractor Dan Titus the district has completed the groundwork for a 30 x 48 foot greenhouse just northwest of the covered play area. Thanks to the work of Aaron Miller, Vernonia Elementary Principal, the project is being funded through BLM and USFWS grants. The greenhouse is being built to help provide needed native plant material utilized in BLM, UNWC, and ODFW restoration projects. Our students will help build and run the facility, and will then utilize these plant materials in conjunction with these agency projects, as well as individual student and classroom projects. The foundation is in place, and the greenhouse is due to arrive in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested in helping please contact Aaron Miller at 503-429-1333.
